It is possible to use simple HTML tags when writing JEAN notes, for example if you write <b>bold</b> it will appear as bold. It is not necessary to include the outermost <html>, <head> nd <body> tags; these will be inserted for you if you export the note to a web page. They should not however cause any problems for JEAN if you wish to insert them.
Please note that we rely on the underlying Java component to interpret the HTML and so we do not have control over the precise version of HTML that is supported and the way that it handles errors. If there is a mistake in the HTML then often this will result in all or part of a note not appearing in the JEAN display.
Links to absolute web addresses should be handled correctly, the destination page will appear in the system browser, not in JEANnotes. Relative links are only expected to be used if the section of JEANnotes is in the correct form for exporting to a set of web pages and may not work in other situations. The principle is however to provide a normal relative path expression through the JEAN nodes to the required destination.
