The JEAN Catalog component is central to the JEAN User Interface. It allows a user to display the relationship between nodes and to select one or more nodes so as to be able to view and edit their attributes and carry out operations on them.
When a single node is selected then its attributes (if any) are displayed on any JEAN Attribute Panel that is linked to the Catalog. When multiple nodes are selected only the attributes of the first one selected are shown.
When nodes are selected various menu items may be enabled to indicate what operations are possible for the current node selection. These menu items may appear on either the main menu bar, or a popup menu obtained by right-clicking over the selected nodes.
