JEAN Administration

Introduction

This section outlines the features that are common to all JEAN applications and thus form part of the JEAN framework. Many of the topics will be dealt with in greater detail later on in the manual.

It covers the intial operations to set up your company details when first you run JEAN, including how to incorporate your company logo on the printed output, it describes the structure of catalogs, which are fundamental to JEAN, and covers the basics of the user interface.

Once you have understood the fundamental principals of using JEAN described in this part of the manual, you should be ready to start using one of the catalogs. Each of these has its own characteristics and so to help get you started a splash screen will appear whenever you open an empty catalog. The splash screen will outline the initial actions you need to take to start using the catalog. The splash screens can always be accessed by clicking on the Help menu along the top of the window.
